Horizon

Horizon is the theme that turns your board into a place. One photograph or artwork runs behind everything: it fills the header, slips through the category strips, and settles into a starlit footer, always cut by soft curves instead of hard banner edges. And everything about it is managed from the little sun button in the corner of the board. No CSS, no template editing, just clicking around until it feels right.

Three worlds come built in. Ember Ridge is a dusk mountainscape with a setting sun, North Tide rolls in moonlit teal, and Highland is a cool blue-green morning. Each one is complete: the header artwork, matching slices for the category bands and widgets, and a proper night edition with its own stars and afterglow. Switch worlds and the whole board follows in one click, panels, markers and all.

The real fun starts with your own images. 🤩 Upload any photo and it becomes a world too. Horizon fits the color overlays and the night treatment around it automatically, and two focus sliders let you frame exactly which part of the image shows in the header and the bands. Every image remembers its own framing, so you can tune each one once and switch between them freely. A scrim slider runs from calm to vivid, deciding whether the imagery sits quietly behind the text or glows right through.

As the admin, you set the defaults: which world visitors land on, whether the board opens in day or night, and which accent colors exist. Add your brand color with a single picker and the theme works out the buttons, links and glows on its own. Then there are seasons: schedule any world, including your own uploads, from a date, and the board turns with the calendar. A snowy scene from the first of December, summer from June, something orange for October. It runs itself, year after year.

Your members get their own corner of the panel too. They can pick any world for themselves without changing anything for anyone else, choose an accent from yours, and, if you allow it, upload a private backdrop that only they ever see. Your default stays the default for everyone who never touches a thing.

The details hold up close. Forum markers are tiny horizon scenes, sun up when something is unread, sun set when you are caught up, and they match whichever world is showing. The header drifts a few pixels as you scroll, the footer rises into a night sky with the sun sitting exactly on the horizon line, and dark mode is never an afterthought, because every world carries its own night palette.

And when you install Horizon, all of it arrives finished. The images, the framing, the colors and the seasons travel inside the theme, so the board looks done from the very first page load. The controls are there for the day you want to make it yours.
