Greetings all,

Since the release yesterday I have continued to do some fine tuning and minor fixes to ForumSpark 2. Here's a few fixes in 2.0.1:

  • Section description blank on save

  • Deleting default sections gave a server error

  • Post rail customization ignored in the topic view

  • Reaction, quote, and mention notifications linked to the first post instead of your post

  • Directory counted topics and posts together, now posts only

  • Active Topics page error on busy boards

  • Missing sub-forum options on the section delete page

  • Docs Search guide unreachable at its own address

That's it for today!

Worth adding to this release: since yesterday’s launch, I’ve been closely monitoring everything that cannot be fully tested in a staging environment.

This has included load testing, handling scraping traffic, fine-tuning Cloudflare, caching and server configuration, bot handling, and finally upgrading the server to one with double the resources.

You should already notice improved performance, with more optimizations still to come.

It's looking really sharp, @Cedric! When I went to Drama Llama and into the ACP, wow, even that looks like it got some new things since I last was in there (besides the 2.0 stuff).

OH and the Hub!! Wow!! That's changed a lot, forgot to mention that. I didn't realize how much was missing from it until you added MORE!! Great job!

Thanks! We still have a long way to go, but I’m sure we’ll get there eventually. 😊

Yep, that has undergone some major improvements too. 😀

Glad to see the launch yesterday and play-testing has helped fix a lot of the issues.

There were a bunch of minor fixes, finetuning and new things rolled out yesterday and today which I didn't really give a clear overview on yet. So here it is.

New

  • Resize images in the editor: click any image for corner drag handles plus 25%, 50%, 75% and Full size presets.

  • Custom templates finished: editable stock templates for the board index and topic list, richer template contexts, interactive tokens, and widget area tokens for page templates.

  • The author's username now sits pinned above custom post rails, the is_staff token reads as a friendly label, and group username styles apply to the post rail author name.

  • Your ForumSpark account avatar can be applied to all linked board accounts in one click from the Hub. Discover cards there show post counts too.

Fixed

  • Your own posts, and topics you had already read, no longer count as unread.

  • Topic notifications clear automatically once you view the topic or reply to it.

  • Links posted in chat are now clickable.

  • Activity stream snippets no longer dump the contents of code blocks.

  • Topics containing deleted member/guest replies could fail to render.

  • Reply counts showed 0 in several places (forum row strip, profiles, exports); they now show the real numbers.

  • Code blocks: emoticons no longer render inside them, trailing blank lines are trimmed, and line numbers align with the text.

  • The reaction picker is a single row on desktop and closes on tap on mobile.

  • The Extensions entry was missing from the ACP navigation.

  • Tablet layout round: stacked topic rows, cramped forum rows, and the post header strip all repaired.

  • Images in custom post rails are size-capped on tablets and phones.

  • Topic labels sit inline on mobile rows, and tapping a label no longer opens the topic instead.

  • Accessibility pass: better contrast, larger tap targets, and valid screen reader roles on icon markers.

Performance

  • A large performance round: the stylesheet is split so only critical CSS blocks rendering, pages are cached for guests and crawlers, avatars ship as lightweight thumbnails in lists, icon fonts load deferred, and background polling is calmer.
