I uploaded smileys via the file manager…They don't show in the drop down smiley box in the post box… what am I missing? Also I was reading through the documentation and I could swear there was an option to ban countries? Did I dream that.? When I had Mybb I could do that via my hosting panel which was handy…. Also..will more themes be available to download when/if I upgrade? I downloaded one and it’s very nice… just like zetaboards used to be… one click and voila!

Also…IF..I convert… will I need to delete any forums I’ve made? So it does a ‘clean install’.. it’s fine if I do.. makes sense really…I’m just practising at the moment…. the permissions take some getting used too but I’m getting there…. apologies for so many questions…

ps..I am impressed with the fact that unlike some other providers I have looked at..there is no charge for a conversion… 👍

The ban countries is coming in the next release (which will be tomorrow at a low traffic time). As for themes, I have a few I need to finish, but so far it's just me who's releasing themes publicly. In a few months there will be loads more, but these things take time like many other things take time.

When we import your data, any forums you have created prior the import will need to be deleted or merged into your imported forums (when they are duplicates of course) You can of course create and further customize your board before the import.

I did that and they don't appear anywhere..except the file manager… never mind it’s no big deal… Another thing I wondered about… can we make forums password protected? I cant see an option anywhere for that…

On my current forum… (www.friendlychatting.co.uk) I have forum images… is it possible to do that? It is purely cosmetic so if not again it’s not a big deal….

Also I noticed thar users have the option of deleting their own accounts..much the same as proboards.. I dont like that at all.. If you have a user(or users) who flounce off in a huff and delete their account, you end up with lots of ‘deleted user’ accounts.. It looks horrible.. Can this feature be disabled by an admin? I have a zero account deletion policy on my current forum. Unless you have broken the site guidelines then your account stays.. I can change the password so you cant log in…I just hate seeing ‘deleted user’.. looks messy…

Let me check the emoticons this afternoon to see if there is something wrong or not clear. I’ll come back to this.

We don’t have password protected forums, instead we rely more heavily on permissions. Group permissions allow you to give access to certain members. If you need a protected forum, it’s not hard for me to implement that, but I suggest you create a new topic for that.

Images are supported.

As for the deletion policy, this is in place because we have many regulations in place to comply with such as GDPR and others. It’s not allowed to keep data from someone who doesn’t want that, simply put.

Re images… I put the img as I do with my current forum… so..

<img src= (img link here pasted from file manager) /> maybe it’s done differently here… as I said it is purely cosmetic so no biggy if I cant…

Use the insert image icon in the editor toolbar:

This is an area that probably could use some improvement though, I'll admit.

I’m still in the middle of things, but you’ll now see the ban filters in place (as mentioned earlier) as well as the emoticons having an image upload (instead of the former link method). The official version update announcement is following.

I have explained it here: https://support.forumspark.net/topics/50495-upload-smileys-in-the-file-manager-and-something-i-swear-i-saw-in-documentationand-one-more?page=1#reply-2259

You’d just use the editor like a normal forum post and use the “Insert Image” icon in the toolbar.

Right…it seems the ones I add appear in a bar under the post box…. they get added to a post when clicked on…but they’re tiny…I’m not spending ages uploading all my smileys if thats the case… never mind… it’s not the most important thing….shame though

Ok.. now there is a box with tiny smileys under the post box… but the smiley face..as show in THIS box..isnt there.. see…

For your emoticons, I think the issue is just them being weird sizes and gif formats.

I have added this in your custom css which now results in bigger emoticons:

img.emoticon { max-height: 3.25em; }
