Hey there :) Currently there isn't a way to manually approve memberships but it is on the roadmap to be implemented, and I agree it’s a useful addition. It’s a fairly straightforward feature, so I’ll aim to get it added within the next few days or so.
In the meantime, if you need absolute control over members you could disable registration entirely and use the pre-register users option. I know that’s not quite the same, but it may help as a temporary workaround.
@Dotmah, I've just released a new version of ForumSpark which includes the feature to require membership approval. You can find the setting in "Board Settings" under the existing toggle to enable / disable registrations.
With this setting enabled, users will be able to register but they will not be able to log into the account until you approve it. You have the option to deny the membership request, at which point the user account will be deleted.
