Between managing posts, tweaking the layout, dealing with spam, and trying to grow the community, it can really add up. How much time do you put in each week?

I dont have a forum, but on my projects, I spend about 20 hours a week, give or take

Similar to @capn I don't spend much time on a forum specifically. But I have a lot of ongoing projects that probably get around 20 hours a week spent on them. I just have to split that time accordingly.

I probably spend around 3 hours between writing posts and catching up on old issues I missed everyday. Every week- Collectively probably around 21-40 hours a week. My moderation team probably exceeds that.

I spend around 15 hours every week on my sites, 2 hours every day on average. I have 4 sites and sometimes I end up working more, especially when I am trying to publish articles.

We don't have to lie here. Running a site can consume your whole week if you don't control yourself. At first, I thought maybe one hour per day will do it but lol. Once you start checking stats, replying to threads, fixing small issues, updating plugins, time would just disappear. I remember one evening I planned to watch football but ended up adjusting forum layout till midnight.

I usually give between 2 to 3 hours working on forums everyday. If you calculate that by 7 days of the week, it's around 14 to 21 hours in a week for me.

I used to spend a few hours when I used to run a website. It was actually a blog. I tried my best to manage the website. Regardless of that, the project was not that successful either. I used to spend hours trying to write content.

This is relatable 😅 I used to tell myself “just 1 hour” next thing it’s 3am, still tweaking something useless. Managing a site can be very addictive, especially when you are growing. What you need to do is to set a limit for yourself because your forum is not running away. 😂

Too many... 😂

But what else would we do? 🤔😀

I'm not as tech savvy as most people here, so I don't spend a lot of time working on it. I prefer to post and since other forums are active, you'll find me on those responding to threads and creating new ones.

I know that manging four forums everyday is going to be a tough job. Do you have staff members like moderators and admins who support you?
