PM system.

My only real gripe with the software is the way PM's are laid out & handled, it seems very.....messy......unorganized.

too much like an instant message and less like a PM. A more traditional layout & design for PM's, even as a toggable option would be cool.

I agree. The PM system could definitely use some work. Personally, I'm thinking about a traditional system on /conversations page, but rather also have chat docks/tabs at the bottom of the browser page for quick messaging that can be kept or closed. Happy to hear some more thoughts though. 😊

the docks thing would be like facebook messenger when you're browsing facebook you mean? or similar?

If so, perhaps have that as an option that can be enabled/disabled in the admin CP? I think that would allow the best of both worlds then. :)

Yeah, that is correct. As said, it would be nice for quick messaging. But an option to enable/disable would indeed be a good idea.

At some point, the ACP settings will grow into one large page, so that will need to be improved as well.

Can there be a way to mark all PMs as read?

Just curious, in what scenario would this be wanted? There is no built in way currently, but I'd be happy to implement this.

Well, sometimes doesn't go away or if we may have missed a PM or don't wanna read one yet but want the notification to disappear, marking all as read would be a viable solution.

Most other major forum platforms offer this as a feature out of the box.

Good point, didn't think of that.

Right now, on my test board, I have a lot of unread PMs from using the PM system for testing. That's not a good enough reason, I don't think, but I can see it used for other purposes as well. For example, if someone uses the PM system for applications that need review, PMs can be marked as read until reviewed. I notice Gmail has a toggle switch for (un)read emails, so it must have some good use.

The toggle switch is a good idea. 👍️

I think that is bigger problem you can not deleted your messages. Messanger is good. You can make like Oxwall mini mobile facebook chat similar or plugin like Elgg freichat or arrowchat

That's a good point, being able to delete/leave conversations would be good also.
