Switch theme toggle back to light/dark instantly

Is there a way to disable the dropdown to select Light, Dark, or System in the theme switcher at the top of the page? I'd like to keep it toggling dark/light with 1 click.

Also, is there a way to set the dark theme as the default for everyone?

Sadly no, the dropdown is staying now as it gives a third option and has been completely reworked.

As for the default theme, at the moment no. But feel free to send it a feature request for this. 😊
