With banning and conversions…

Why is it not IP based as well? Just banning a user name and/or email is pointless…I like to have IP banning as well… is it something that will be added at some point? I also see you have an Xenforo and Jcink convertor… I’d only consider converting if IP banning was an option tbh… lots to consider….

You’re right, that’s actually a gap in the system. Thanks for pointing this out. I’ll have this sorted out in the next version.

Cheers…also during a conversion.. does everything get converted? by that I mean will users need to change their passwords? Do pm’s get converted…smileys…ban lists…. again..lots to consider… been with Jcink a while…but this is so similar to zetaboards..which I do miss still….

Members, emails, posts, forums, groups, etc. all will be imported. Members will need to reset their password, and any attachments (smilies included) are not carried over since exporting that data does not include them.

If you need help, we can always time a schedule for us both to be present. Or if you send your exported database, I can run the import for you.

Just wanted to share a quick preview of what's coming. In the next release we will see the banning system being improved by filters (IP, IP range, email address, email domains, and country).

Depending on the nature of your community, you will be easily to block countries you don't wish to have traffic from:

Additionally, any history will be displayed here:

The modal for the actual ban makes it easy to block multiple layers at once:

Additionally, while ForumSpark sees very few spam attempts, we’ll collect data from confirmed spam-related bans, verify it, and use it to strengthen our platform-wide spam defense system.

By country? wow..that was something I could only do with paid for hosting via the hosting panel… hmm.. I’m liking what I see very much so far I must admit… excellent work…sincerely..🙂
