Have you ever had to ban someone from your forum that you truly liked?

Why did you have to resort to banning?

Did you ever try to reverse it or was the damage already done?

There was a guy I knew from another bigger forum who used to get banned from there often…and then let back in after a sob story. Well, he came to the forum I run and would get drunk and be a troll. He swore at me and everyone said to ban him, but I knew he needed to read the things said on the forum, so I had a hard time doing that. But my permissiveness allowed his behavior to get worse and eventually he was permabanned. I blocked him on Facebook from messaging me about a year ago and then I don’t even remember him unblocking him, but he reached out to say he’s doing better emotionally now. So that’s good. It’s not like we’ll ever be besties.

Dealing with people who are intoxicated on a forum is bad news.

Many of them will always say stupid things and do dumb things when they’re drunk and then cry sorrows when they sober up.

If I’m honest, I don’t even like to be around people who are drunk.

I don’t even drink alcohol myself, anymore. Working on 3 years now.

I’m not a drinker either. A lot of times when a member goes out of normal character, that’s when I have to wonder if they’ve had too much wine for dinner 😉 On my Facebook group, I actually had 2 guys recently admitting to doing that same thing and asked for some grace and to delete their last posts LOL
