Suicidal members

Have you ever dealt with a member who threatens to hurt or kill themselves on your forum?

What did you do as a response?

Yes, I’ve come across this a few times and it’s pretty concerning and scary. Depending on how well you know the member, you might be able to reach out to a family member if you’ve friended each other on Facebook. If you don’t have a way to have someone help, then supplying the person with their country/state’s suicide helpline is one of the best resources to have on hand.

I never had a member who threatened to commit suicide, i did have one who told me after the fact that they attempted to, but was unsuccessful. I dont know if it was a cry for attention or not but it was difficult because i never dealt with that before or since.
